Recently Silk began making probiotics. This is LF yogurt, for you older folks out there. I was in search of a probiotic because I had read that celiac sufferers could benefit from taking a probiotic after changing their diet.
I've never liked the taste of yogurt. But if it helps my gut, my irascible, inconstant, irritated gut, I figured it might be worth a shot - if I could find some that was free from lactose. If I could, I was sure I could eventually recover from all the damage I'd done to my gut for 15 years when I didn't know I was lactose-intolerant and (probably) celiac.
I have tried many of the flavors of the Silk yogurts. The vanilla and strawberry were okay. Peach/Mango was much better, and I actually found I could eat it without getting vague nausea. There is a pineapple flavor that I haven't tried, I saw it at one store, sold out. So heh. But my favorite flavor so far is the Black Cherry. It is THE bomb, I can hardly taste any of the chemical-type taste that I don't enjoy.
That is all for this episode, campers. Keep a stiff upper lip, and all that, wot?
